Welcome Pavillion

CIS is Europe's largest textiles distribution hub.
To date, the centre has no structure to adequately welcome the suppliers, customers, commercial partners and visitors of its over 1 million square meters of production and retail surface. The project for a new Welcome Pavillion aims to bridge this gap and provide CIS with a new receptive structure.

The new pavillion is a simple steel structure covered in stretched aluminium which gives the project its peculiar effect of semitransparency and opalescence. The building has a footprint of 16.90 x 10.40m with an overall height of 11m.

The accessible spaces of the project are all located on the ground floor and consist of reception desk, back office, storage, toilets and a multifunctional hall structured as a large open space that guarantees a plurality of spatial configurations. The pavilion can be organized as a simple lobby, as a seminar and conference room, it can be divided into two meeting rooms, it can be set up as an exhibition and promotion space for events. The hall of the pavillion opens through four large sliding windows toward a private garden, thus giving the visitors the possibility to enjoy a rich Mediterranean garden.

The triangular geometry of the top of the pavillion is dictated by the necessity to optimize its visibility with respect to the access road to the whole CIS centre. The diagonal facade of the upper part of the pavillion will support a huge LED screen for commercial purposes.
